Kinda Makes You Think…
So your job has been outsourced to a managed IT services Austin and the sad part about it is that you do not even live in Austin. Nor did you have an IT job for that matter. Why then would you find yourself so down in the dumps? A job you never had was outsourced to a city you do not live in. Clearly none of this has anything to do with you or with your life. Or does it?
What if (stay with me here) in an alternate universe or parallel reality there is a version of you that did work in the IT department of a small business in Austin, Texas. And further suppose that that small business decided that it was too much of a pain in the ass to maintain their own IT department so they decided to outsource your job to the managed IT services Austin down the street. What then? What then indeed.
Just because that outsourced you lives in an alternate universe, does that mean that you have no responsibility to care for him (or her)? On the one hand, you are pretty tied up with your existence in this universe. On the other hand that other you is a version of you. Perhaps he (or she) is more connected to you than your very children. Perhaps you and he (or she) interact on a level on which you are not consciously aware. Perhaps what impacts him directly impacts you indirectly and vice versa. What then? Again, what then indeed.
“But,” you might say, “what can I possibly do about a version of me that exists in an alternate universe?” Of course this question is a perfectly reasonable question for a person in your position to ask. But let me ask you this… What if that alternate version of you is asking the same question of you. Kinda makes you think don’t it?
